Islamists in southern Somalia have stoned a man to death for adultery but spared his pregnant girlfriend until she gives birth.
Abas Hussein Abdirahman, 33, was killed in front of a crowd of some 300 people in the port town of Merka.
An official from the al-Shabab group said the woman would be killed after she has had her baby.
My comments:
Some say this has nothing to do with Islam. At the same time the animals you do this claim to practice sharia law. What is Sharia law? According to Muslims, Sharia Law is founded on the teachings of Allah and the acts and sayings of Muhammad as found in the Qur’an and the Sunnah.
Thus the argument that it has nothing to do with Islam is hollow at best and hypocritical at worse. One cannot be a true muslim (like a true christian) and pick and choose which bits of the religion suits you. Those who practice Sharia always claim to be the true muslims….just like those who live by the Bible claim to be true Christians.
Therefore the opposition to Sharia is not that it is not Islam; it is because Sharia has no place in a modern civilized world. It had a place among tribes in the 1600.
